L’objectif était d’identifier les facteurs et raisons qui accrochent la pleine participation politique des femmes. L’analyse de données issues d’entretiens ethnographiques, réalisés auprès d’étudiantes, de femmes travailleuses et de femmes leaders, a permis de lier la faible participation politique des femmes, entre autres, à l’éducation sociale de genre, au faible pouvoir économique des femmes, ainsi qu’à une forme d’adversité que les femmes se vouent sur le champs politique. This article examines the issue of women’s political participation in the district of Ségou, Mali. The study aims to identify the factors and underlying reasons that hinder women’s full engagement in political life. Drawing on data collected through ethnographic interviews conducted with female students, working women, and women leaders, the analysis reveals that the low level of women’s political participation is closely linked to socially constructed gender education. It is also associated with women’s limited economic power and with forms of intra-gender adversities that manifest within the political arena.
